Happy New Years, Grym.
You know over the years, at least one big change has come which helps the troops; the ability to email and have (even limited) web connectivity.
When I was stationed at Incirlik, that was a lonely Christmas; they didnt have MARS set up, no cellphones back then, and since the Turkish government was pissed at us at the time, no packages allowed in mail. I can't speak for the wartime conditions, but I do understand the isolation.
You guys are doing a hell of a job over there, and I am glad for anything which helps to make it a bit more bearable. Keep up the good work, and get your people home, and maybe somehow we can meet someday and I can buy you a drink.
Until then, I lift my Bud to you and say, /salute!

Sam and I would like to wish all of our Volsung family a belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. And for those that we don't see in game anymore to express how much we miss each and everyone of you.
Pomp, you are so right. The first 2 times I was over here, i lived in a tent, in the middle of no where. However, there are times I wonder if our ability to communicate back home so readily, hasn't become as much of a detriment as much as a boon?
Familiarity breeds contempt. When you are 10,000 miles away from home...but have the ability to communicate like you never left....it causes many other problems. It reduces focus.
