Organizing RvR Fun and Grym's Return

Post by Anderspish »

All right, so our unicorn riding lifetap spamming buddy is coming back. Leftover groups have always been about having fun in RvR. The reason why Leftover groups run into trouble is because of not having fun. Times when we didn't have fun were do to

a) boredom...sitting around at PKs waiting for the right classes to log in to get a decent Leftover group going

b) losing...running without healers (or only 1 healer) against Bedlam now seems silly, but at the time it was all we could gather

c) taking things too seriously...getting frustrated with people and/or mistakes

d) RvRing to the point where it became a second job, which didn't happen with us, but happens to hardcore gank guilds

So I'm thinking of not having a full on optimized gank group that runs open field 8vs8 all the time, but instead hoping to have all of us with at least 2 viable characters to play well out on the battlefield. We could adapt our group to tank-heavy vs caster-heavy or a mix of both depending on what we succeed with and what enemies are out. It would be great for the Leftovers to have 2 different styles of toons (i.e. Healer and a Tank, or Hybrid and a Caster, etc.) to log in, so we'd never be short of having the right classes available to play.

MLs and artis are all pretty easy now, and it isn't tough to get an alt going.

Any thoughts of creating an honorary leftover guild?

Let's storm keeps, run with zergs, go off on our own, take over towers, and have a lot of fun, like the good old days. It should be a fun time for all, and a lot of the magic will still be there, and Bridog will still be a parmesan eating POS! weee

I will support it! We've all played together for a long time and all are familiar with our little isms' I vow not to take myself so seriously.

I've enjoyed rvr of late because I am fully aware of my role in RVR now.

While the myth of the Berserker is one who whips himself into a freenzy and attains invulnerability in combat displaying fierce rage and power, Mythic falls short of that vision..

I'm a battlemaster. My job is to protect the healer and shaman. I keep any melee from taking our healers out. I will grapple the shit out of a tank I cannot defeat on my own for my team to come and support me.

I'm an offensive lineman, that is my job.

I'm all for forming a Leftovers RVR guild!

The reason I like Grym is I can play tank and caster. I have Speh who is RR5 RM as well...although pishy has far outclassed my ability at playing the RM. I also have a Stealther, ICUT....unless the original ICUT comes back into game.

Friends, here is what we'll need, depending on what we run.

1) Skald (for open field schtuff)
2) Maybe another warrior or something
3) Healers
4) Supp SMs
5) A couple warlocks

I think by now we have enough shammies floating around where someone can hop on their bot. Just make sure it's ToA'd with MLs

Little worried about skald.

Dar, we've gotta get you Banelord and kicking the piss out of enemy support on a fine-tuned assist train. Warriors and thanes will do the Bodyguarding and peeling off support. Zerkers need to hit stuff hard!

We have enough casters I think.

If we get the Supp SMs and Warlocks we can put together some bomb groups here and there

I'm kind of envisioning something a guild like The Guardians did on Galahad. They ran 2 full groups every night if the people were on...they didn't leave anyone behind. They had a lot of fun and caused all kinds of trouble, including taking numerous relics. By the time their reign ended on Galahad, most their guild had the "I took a lot of Relics" title under their toon's name. That sounds like fun, and they made massive RP. Good players.
