according to CNN, there were no deaths and only a few injured...
a good bit of damage, but nothing compared to something like Katrina, so those of us over here in the southern US would probably think of Larry as just a bad thunderstorm. :p
I'm glad Koobs is ok

I haven't been on Bors a whole lot, just on my Scout (Ukyou) a little bit.
I have mainly been on Hib/MLF, ranger (Nabikki)/ mentalist (amythyst), and lvlin up eldritch (sangoh)
and some on Eme on Mid
Do look for ya when I do go there tho
and was very good to hear no deaths and little injury in the storm down there, material things can be replaced our friends cannot.

Cyclone
Hope all you guys are okay down there!
News said it was a Category 5 Cyclone 'Larry'... by the time it landed about 50 miles from Cairns.. Tore the roofs off thousands of homes, flattened the banana & sugar cane crops... no fatalities.. but a real brute of a storm and tons of damage..
And there is another one parked off the coast making eveyrone nervous..
Ouch...
power is probably out too... I'm guessing..
Anyways.. we are all thinking of you guys!!

honestly, I lived in Florida for 17 LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG years and I had never seen storms as bad as Opal, Ivan, and Katrina, which I've experienced since I've been here in Alabama.
My best friend, who still lives down in southwest FL, says that they predict the storms won't get any better. In fact, because of the global warming, they'll only get worse since hurricanes/cyclones feed off of warm water.
This makes me worry for my family and friends still down there, but it also makes me worry now for those of you over there in Oz, who aren't as used to it (it seems) as we are here.
Here's what I do. Buy some batteries, and some lantern oil, and canned food, and bottled water, and hope for the best. If your cable goes out, it's ok to cry a little... but they should have it back up within a month if you're lucky and a tree hasn't taken out all of your power lines.
Love you guys, please please please stay safe. Don't take any chances for real. These storms promise to be some serious business.
