a written transcript of today's funnest client so far...this would be confidential, had i actually filed this piece of crap...or taken any information other than the following

me: so, you made 2k this year?
client: yes

me: and you're claiming this child?
client: yes

me: okaaay, so, you're relation to this child?
client: cousin

me: so, cousin it is, okay so you can't get EIC for a cousin
client: wait, it's my stepchild

me: stepchild? but you just said it's your cousin...
client: well it's my stepchild

me: then why did you say cousin?
client: because i meant stepchild, look just put it on there, people do it all the time

me: people may do it all the time, but i can't because it's illegal
client: well they come up here and do it

me: well then tell me who they are so i can report them for fraud, because i'm not about to fill out a fraudelent return.
(short pause)

client: well, it's my stepchild, common law marriage.
me: okay

me: 2 things then, first, are you filing seperate from your husband or with him? i only see your w-2's?
client: seperate

me: then you still don't get eic.
client: then together, he didn't make no money

me: then there's the other thing, you supported the both of you and a child on 2k?

me: ma'am, i'm a parent, here's a picture of my girl. i'm not even the primary and i pay frickin 2k on diapers
client: well they do it all the time

me: they do, but i don't.
client: well it's my step child, common law marriage

me: ma'am, louisiana isn't even a common law state. you have to have a certificate. if you get common law married in another state and come here, then they'll recognize it, but if you just shack up here, nope.

client: well we did it when i was in houston..

me: okay, common law rules for louisiana require you be that way for 7 years, you're 23....so you were common law married when you were 16?

client: they do it all the time.

me: well i'm not. it's illegal, and i'm not going down on this one.

client: but it's my stepchild

me (getting pissed by now): it's your stepchild? you've already told me it's your cousin, now you're telling me it's your stepchild, then you're married, but then you're not. it's clear that you only want to file this return to get the earned income tax credit. i'm not filing this return, this office isn't filing this return.
and in the event this return does get filed anywhere near me with my knowledge of this return as it is...i will have to report you for fraud.

client: well i'm leaving
me: i'm sorry we can't file your return, and you have a nice day.

ah well, my friend, ah well i say.

on the incredibly awesome superstupendous side, here's my day so far for thursday, the 20th.

i got me girl last night, so i wake up the me baby pullin on my hair saying "get up". AWESOME

get to keep her for quite a bit this week, she's up here at work with me now, checkin out puppies. what's a good dog for childeren that are 18 months old?

got me regristration papers today, now all i gotta do is go get a transcript and sign up and register for the online courses and everything is SMOOTHE sailing.....or if i'm feeling froggy, i could wait for the fall and just move up there.

all in all, it's been a good day. i'm a bit tired, and a little sore from helping a friend of mine move (who wasn't jorm for a change, YOU FRICKIN NOMAD)...other than that, i'm feelin spiffy.

anyone else?

i think i'll do what i've been doing so far, which is float along until something happens

worked out so far.

it's been a pretty good week...well, aside from my cd player in my truck going completely insane (that sucked real bad).
