4th of July

Post by Urgon »

Thanks Kitty!

Hope you guys are rockin' out and staying cool on this 4th!

My family ran a 5k this morning to kick things off, and now we are just chillin' ... waiting for some friends to come over to BBQ hot-dogs & hit the pool!

On a seperate note, I'm trying a recipe for white sangria today, which I've not done before. I may need to make multipel sample sips just to make sure I get it right!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

had a good 4th myself...the ms. and I played a lot of wii, watched a bit of the twilight zone marathon on sci fi, and had the obligitory bbq.

we ended the night by strolling down to the bank of the Mississippi and watching the fireworks display.

I love living near the river...but not in a van down by it, in an house.

that is all.

We had a good one here too. our little town had our fireworks display on Thursday instead of Friday, so we kicked off then

Friday had a picnic at the college lake surrounded by ducks and geese which was fun as well as funny.

went visiting, hit the sales, then came back home where I cooked hotdogs, burgers, stirfry(squash, zuchinni, greenpepper, sweetonion, and mushrooms), sliced up watermellon and cantelope, doritos, and a pasta salad. :)

After that we played Wii for a bit till girls kicked me off of it to play theirselves , played DAOC a bit, and then we had several neighbors shooting off fireworks, so we sat on the porch and watched them a bit.

Then I came in and RVRd on daoc on my wizzy too late, but bonus is up and I'm trying to get her rr5 and then hope to get my zerk rr5 as well, both are close. :)

And if anyone playing daoc or planning, if u look for me on mid just look for anyone in Body count as usual and if u look for me on Alb, look for erriss or reeneey :)

Looking forward to origins too where I will be on hib most likely.

anyway I sure do miss everyone. sooooooooooo much. :(

Turc and I went for dinner at his Aunt's house.

Here's what they had laid out for about 10 people...

(Phisto can attest to the exuberance of food)

From the local BBQ place, they had a big pan of chicken, about 5 pounds of pulled pork, brisket, and various sauces and cole slaw.

They also cooked about 15 steaks, couple dozen hot dogs, about a dozen hamburgers, fried squash, more cole slaw, potatoes baked with cheese and bacon, macaroni and cheese, cucumber salad, baked beans, sweet potato casserole, and probably 3 dozen fresh baked butter rolls.

For dessert, we had Red Velvet cake, pound cake layered with whipped cream and cream cheese and fresh strawberries, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and both chocolate and vanilla home made ice cream.

I swear, they always cook for an army. We ate way too much.

After we got home, we went across the street to the neighbor's house and helped him finish off his keg after his pool party, then got rained on a bunch and still stayed outside playing cards and crawled back home around 2am. :p

Good times!

Yeah i know, I go back to work in less than 2 weeks, one kid goes back to school aug 11, and the other aug 25. seems like summer flew.

Hollidays will be upon us before you know it, heck kids are already talking about halloween. lol.

And they have already started the Real Men of Genius commercials lol. That means football around corner.

Saints just traded draft picks for Shockey...

I'm on the fence on this one.

Great upgrade at TE provided the ego stays in check and he stays healthy. He's one of Rosenhaus's boys though, so the ego thing really does worry me.

Ah well, it's not as if this is the whole Ricky Williams debacle all over again.

Mommy's little fan

Brad painted this DOC band that Aidan wore for 3 months to correct some flattening on the side of his head...that they think may have been caused because when I was pregnant....he basically stayed in one position for like the last 3 months of my pregnancy
